Arrival in Tamanrasset, welcome at the airport and visit of the town. Departure for the Assekrem, lunch on the way in the volcanic landscape of the prestigious Atakor massif. Arrival at the refuge late afternoon. Overnight there.
After sunrise and a visit to Father de Foucauld's hermitage, we continue towards the gueltas. Arrival at the village of Hirafok with a stop at the engravings on rock panels. On to Ideles and a visit to the blacksmiths (Tuareg souvenirs). Bivouac in the Tellouhat wadi under the tamarisks.
We leave Tellouhat heading north, stopping at the famous Amadror salt mines. We cross the reg to the Tihodaine ergs. Bivouac on these magnificent sand dunes.
A walk on the erg. We reach Afara to admire the magnificent panorama of Mount Mezriren. Picnic at the foot of the Tassili near a spring. Through the Akba Tamedet pass we climb onto the Fadnoune plateau and reach Tasset. Overnight there.
Arrival at the village of Ihrir and its zeribas (huts) with very distinctive architecture. Here we find gueltas full of water and a flora no one would expect in a place that seems so arid.
A day devoted to the rock paintings, including remarkable drawings on the Tadjllahine plateau. In the afternoon we return to the vehicles and continue to Dider (engravings). Bivouac for the night.
After a few stops we reach the Tin Teradjelli pass in the heart of the Tassili massif, to admire one of the most beautiful panoramas of the range. In the afternoon, arrival at Issendilene at the foot of the cliff: a water point with lush vegetation and a walk to the gueltas.
Early in the morning we leave these needle-shaped reliefs for another site of strange shapes: Tikobaouine, a solitary, grandiose place with a true wall of dunes to the west inviting a walk.
From the Admer erg we head to the Terrarat wadi to visit the engravings, including the famous "Crying Cow", then reach Djanet. Overnight.
Very early transfer to the foot of the Akba. A day devoted to Jabbaren on the Tassili plateau. Return late afternoon.
Transfer to the airport for the flight to Algiers.
